A 42-YEAR-OLD man of Lusaka has sustained serious injuries after his car hit into the monumental Gun at the Cabinet office round about in Lusaka.
The accident happened when Mponda Lungu was driving his car with excessive speed, hit into a pavement and later the Government monumental Gun at the Cabinet office.
Police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said the incident occurred on August 6th, at around 01:30 hours at Cabinet house round about circle.
“Involved was Mponda Lungu aged 42 of plot number 10622, Lilayi housing estates who was driving a Toyota Hilux registration number BAE 7258 whose damages were right front door and fender, grill, front suspension, shattered front wind screen, bonnet ,bull bar and bumper, damaged right front tyre and rim, deflated rear right tyre, air bags and dashboard,” he said.
Mr Hamoonga said the driver sustained a painful chest and general body pains. He was admitted to Fairview Hospital.
“The accident occurred when the driver of a Toyota Hilux registration BAE 7258 was coming from the direction of West to East and in the process hit into a pavement and due to excessive speed the vehicle moved and went to hit into the monumental Gun at Cabinet office round about circle,” he said.
