AFTER having put on the Dorcas Mother uniform in protest of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church five years ago, a Patriotic Front (PF) cadre Max Chongu has apologised.
Mr Chongu said his action was disrespectful to the church and not befitting in God’s eyes.
In 2018, Mr Chongu decided to wear the Dorcas mother uniform in protest against the Church after one of its member was captured calling former president Edgar Lungu a ‘drunkard.’
Mr Chongu then decided to put the Dorcas uniform on in protest, stating that he would go everywhere including drinking places.
However, Mr Chongu has asked for forgiveness from the SDA church , stating that his actions against the church have been eating him up.
The politician visited the church yesterday to render his apology for his past actions.
“The main reason I have come is because I did something very disrespectful to pastors, the SDA community and Dorcas mother’s and this thing has been eating me up.
I had court cases and I said I will not issue an apology because I do not want to seem like I am doing it because of the cases and so I will issue an apology because it was coming from my inner conviction because I was wrong for what I did.
“I am here today to seek forgiveness. This thing has not only brought embarrassment to me, but also my wife, my mother-in-law and the President (Hakainde Hichilema)and his wife (Mutinta Hichilema) whom I believe are also from the SDA church. That action was very disrespectful and I have been hearing a voice telling me you need to seek God’s Face,” he said.
Mr Chongu said failed to move on and that is why he needed to seek forgiveness from the SDA community as well as God.
